One last thing: please consider joining us for the next 30 Days, 30 Writes. We had so much fun this time, we may just take the leap all over again in April, 2010. Stephen and I have already started brainstorming some wild prompts, stuff guaranteed to slap your muse into full alert. It's fun, it's challenging, and it'll get you writing. And who knows? Maybe one of YOUR stories will make next year's chapbook.

Stay tuned for more details....

Keep Writing~

Coming Soon to a Blog Near You!

30 Days, 30 Writes nears completion!

This collection of 30 stories will be available in a FREE pdf file for anyone who wants to read it. The collection features short writing by Stephen Book, Jane Banning, JC Towler and myself. And it offers a little something for everyone--poetry, horror, literary, and memoir are amongst the genres represented.

This project has been an invaluable learning experience for me. My goal was to showcase the fine writing generated in April 2009 MySixWriMo with as little editorial intrusion as possible. I wanted readers to enjoy the stories as the authors intended them. I believe I've accomplished that.

But I couldn't have done any of this without help. Stephen Book did a phenomenal job as associate editor, so much so that in 2010, Stephen and I will be partnering to run the event and publish the chapbook as co-editors. It's been gratifying to see a wonderful writing friendship succeed in a this new venue.

And of course, I'm grateful to the authors for providing such great material to work with. They've been generous with their work, as well as offering keen suggestions for editing and promoting the project.

So stay tuned. We expect to launch the pdf version before the end of October. When it's available, we can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Keep writing!
